Privacy Policy
- Your course videos, PDFs, and other local files stay on your computer unless you choose to use a feature that sends content elsewhere.
- Progress, notes, settings, and API keys are stored locally on your device.
- AI features use keys you provide (BYOK). Those requests go to the provider you select.
- Optional online features (for example Hall of Fame or study rooms) use limited account/profile data when you opt in.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Who we are
Study Stream Lite is a Windows desktop learning app published by ZoroVeta (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains what information the app and related websites may process when you use Study Stream Lite.

2. Information we process
2.1 Data stored on your device
Most Study Stream Lite data stays on your PC, including:
- Library paths and scanned course metadata (titles, file paths, structure)
- Playback and reading progress, notes, quizzes, schedules, and productivity data
- App settings, themes, and preferences
- AI provider choices and API keys you enter (stored locally)
- A local profile identifier used for XP / optional multiplayer features
Uninstalling the app may leave local progress and settings on disk so you can keep your study history. You can delete that data manually from your user profile folders if you want a full wipe.
2.2 Course and media files
Study Stream Lite reads course folders and documents you point it to on your machine. We do not upload your course libraries to ZoroVeta servers as part of normal local playback or reading.
2.3 AI features (bring your own key)
If you enable AI features, you supply your own API key for a provider such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, or OpenRouter. When you ask a question or generate content, the app sends the necessary prompt or context to that provider using your key.
2.4 Optional online features
Some features may use hosted services (for example Supabase) when you use Hall of Fame, study rooms, invites, or similar social/sync features. Depending on what you use, this can include:
- A handle / display name you choose
- XP, level, streak, or similar public profile stats if you keep them public
- Study-room presence or invite-related metadata needed to run the feature
If you do not use those features, this online profile data is not required for core local study.
2.5 Website and Store
- Our websites (including lite.studystream.online and studystream.online) may receive standard server or CDN logs such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL.
- If you install from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may process installation, licensing, and diagnostics data under Microsoft’s own policies.
3. How we use information
We use information only to:
- Run Study Stream Lite on your device
- Provide optional online features you choose to use
- Respond to support requests you send us
- Improve reliability and security of the product and site
- Meet legal or Store compliance obligations
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Limited sharing can occur with:
- AI providers you configure — when you use BYOK features
- Infrastructure providers — for optional online features and website hosting (for example Cloudflare / database hosts)
- Microsoft — if you obtain the app through the Microsoft Store
- Legal authorities — only if required by law
5. Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or clear app storage. Online profile or room-related data for optional features is retained while the feature is active or until you ask us to remove it, subject to backup and legal limits.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate for a desktop app and small online services. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Protect your device login and keep API keys private.
7. Children
Study Stream Lite is a general productivity/learning tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your choices
- Do not enter API keys if you do not want AI provider processing
- Avoid optional online features if you want a fully local experience
- Delete local app data from your device when you no longer want it kept
- Email us to request deletion or correction of online profile data we control
9. International users
The app and related services may be hosted or processed in countries different from yours. By using optional online features or contacting us, you understand that information may be transferred accordingly.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy for that version of the service.
